Xis Douro 2020
QUINTA DA CAROLINA
Xis was born in 2019 from a search for the best white grape vineyards in the Adorigo/Barcos region in the council of Tabuaço – Douro..
Very old vines, with schist soils, over 90 years old, exposure to the North between 500 and 550 meters of altitude, with mostly Malvasia Fina, among other varieties with less weight in the vines such as Gouveio, Rabigato, Dona Branca and Viosinho.

El3mento is a partnership between Luís Pedro Cândido da Silva and Carmelo Peña Santana. Since university that the plan was one day to make wine together, so after 5 years of thinking and sharing ideas, in 2017 El3mento was born in Douro. The choice was a specific vineyard, a centenary one, field blend at 600 meters high in Barcos – Tabuaço. A spontaneous fermentation in Amphora, whole bunch, light foot tread with no temperature control and macerated for 4 months – work in the limit of volatility with low levels of sulfur dioxide was always an idea, that’s an high risk that was taken and due to that the El3mento wine is not released every year.

Xisto Amarelo tinto 2019
QUINTA DA CAROLINA
The Xisto Amarelo is the result of 10 years of work with the same vineyard – the Amarelinha vineyard – which is characterized precisely by its Yellow Schist. A vineyard exposed to east, planted at the beginning of the millennium on levels, mostly with Touriga Franca.
Of dense violet color, typical of a fermentation with a lot of Touriga Franca in a winepress. The Yellow Schist shows itself very floral on the nose, with some notes of rock rose and pink pepper. In the mouth it contrasts very fresh, black fruit of the forest and some white pepper with firm tannins that make the finish very persistent.

Douro White 2022
CAROLINA
- The Carolina White wine is the result of the selection of grapes from the higher areas of the Douro region, more precisely the Tabuaço region, where comes the Viosinho and Rabigato varieties planted on granite soil, and Murça from which the Códega do Larinho variety comes, planted on schist soil.
- A clear color, citrus with floral notes on the nose, Carolina White has a great intensity, resultant of the complexity of the two types of soil. Balanced in the mouth, elegant, fresh, with notes of grapefruit and a long mineral finish.
