El3mento White was born in 2024 following a passion for the Lima Valley, a specific terroir for the variety Loureiro white. Luís Pedro studied Agricultural Engineeting in the valley and developed a relationship with it and always wanterd to ocme back to make something and in 2023 he convinced his mother and uncle to invest in a property and to plant 1.2ha of Loureiro, that is still growing now and hopefully will be ready to make some wine in 2027.
As we still have no grapes yet, we had to purchase grapes in the region to makeit our first trial – we bought in grapes from Moreira do lima, a very noble region to produce wuality Loureiro, that is the place we’ve chosen to make this wine, but in the future it will probably come out of our own vineyards. The grapes were harvested on the 10th of September, one part was destemmed and put into an 1000L anfora with the skins, and the other part pressed to old barrels.
Fermentations were spontaneous without nay additives, and after alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were finished a bit of sulfur was added to age for almost 4 months – the anfora aged on the skins untel the 23 of December when the wine was pressed and put together with te wine that was in barrel into stainless steel, where it aged and decanted naturally until the 21st of April when the wine was bottled without finning or filtration.
