Produced with grapes from the best vineyards of Quinta da Carolina, situated in the DOC region of the Douro Valley, more precisely in the sub-region of Cima Corgo.
HARVEST
It was a perfect year. The maturation was slower and balanced and the harverest was early compared to the usual, good health of the grapes, high graduation. Wines with a deep color, ripe tannins and lots of concentration and freshness.
VARITIES
Old vineyards from Quinta da Carolina, mainly Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Nacional.
VINIFICATION
Grapes were harvest in small boxes of 25 kg, sorted by hand and then crushed by feet in traditional lagares. Fermentation at controled temperature and malolactic in new french wood barrels, where it ages for 18 months.

Alcohol: 14, 5% ; Total acidity: 4,7 g/l ; pH 3,6; Residual sugars: 3,2 g/l ; Production: 3.000

TASTING NOTES
Deep ruby color, with notes of fresh black fruit on the nose, perfectly blended and balanced with the new wood. Good volume in the mouth, balancing the concentration with mature tannins and crisp acidity. Elegant long finish with notes of vanilla and dark red fruit.
